A husband-and-wife construction company, run the way we'd want one run for us.
We're Brittney and Eshel. We started Happy Bay after enough years on enough other crews to know what we'd do differently.

Brittney + Eshel · Founders
A small company, on purpose.
Eshel grew up building things. He runs site work, scheduling, and trade coordination — the part of the project where things actually happen.
Brittney runs everything else: design coordination, client communication, permitting, contracts, scheduling, and the dozen things that keep a remodel from quietly going sideways.
Between us and a small group of contractors we've worked with for years, we keep your project to one schedule with one point of contact. We're not trying to be the biggest GC in the Bay. We're trying to be the one you'd recommend to your sister.
Four things you can hold us to.
Most contractors have some version of these on their About page. We've put them in writing because we hear the same complaints about other contractors over and over, and we've structured our company around not making those.
Licensed and accountable
CSLB-licensed (#1107947), bonded, and insured. The license isn't a marketing line — it's the legal protection that lets you call the state if something goes wrong. Most rough contractors don't have one.
Fixed-scope contracts
You sign one contract with the full scope and price written into it. We don't pad change orders to make up for a low initial bid. If something legitimately needs to change, we explain it before we do it — not after.
One project manager
From planning to clean-up, you have one person to call. Not a different scheduler, foreman, and bookkeeper at three different phone numbers.
A small, regular crew
We use the same trades on every project. We've worked with our plumber, electrician, and tile crew for years. No revolving door of subcontractors who learned about your project an hour ago.
Why "Happy Bay"?
Because remodels are stressful, and the goal is for you to be happy when we leave. Our mission is to make the Bay happier, one home at a time. Yes, the name is sincere — and yes, the palm trees on our logo are too.
San Francisco, the East Bay, and Marin.
Our regular working area. Two physical offices: Greenwich Street in San Francisco and Franklin Street in Oakland.
